Team DVG America NEEDS YOUR HELP

The DVG Bundeseigerprufund (BSP) is the annual DVG Championship. Our first and second place winners are Steve Gregalunas and Sue Nesbitt.

The cost of the trips to Germany is quite expensive, especially with the current exchange rate of the Euro. Your assistance would be highly appreciated. The best way for both clubs and individuals to contribute financial support, is to send donations directly to each competitor. There is no contribution too small, collectively they all add up.

Please be as generous as possible, remember these dog/handler pairs are “Our” DVG America team!

Note: The DVG BSP is held in August of each year. The first two winners of each of the 14 LVs’ championships are automatically invited to compete. The remainder of the field of 50 competitors are selected from the next highest scores from all the 14 LVs combined, providing that they meet the minimum qualification of 270 total points with at least 85 points in both Obedience and Protection and a TSB rating of "a". Most likely, our third and fourth place finishers, Phil Hoelcher (289) and Patrick M Gildea (282) will also be invited to participate. Check back for updates.

Based on the results of this BSP Championship, DVG’s entries into the VDH Meisterschaft to be held September 26 - 28, 2008, in Kamenz, Germany are selected.

Please Note: According to DVG Germany’s rules, VM and EP members must be adults of the opposite sex who live at the same address and who are not related (except by marriage). The two adults do not have to have the same last name. This definition of EP which translates into “spouse” excludes any other family relationships or same sex partners.

AWDF TEAM DECLARATION FOR
2008 FCI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
WAVRE, BELGIUM

To all LV/DVG America Members,

On our LV America website, you can find the AWDF guidelines - Click Here for declaring your interest in being one of the AWDF dog/handler team members to participate in the 2008 FCI IPO World Championship. This will be held in Wavre, Belgium, September 11 through 14, 2008. There are specific requirements and steps you must follow in order to be considered by the AWDF Team Selection Committee. That includes filling out the requisite entry form, providing copy of the pedigree and registration papers (dog must be registered to participate) and also proof of successfully participating in with passing scores in at least 2 championships in the prior 12 months. This material is to be sent to me so that I can verify to the selection committee that you hold valid current membership in LV/DVG America.

If you wish to know more about the FCI IPO championship itself, you can go to www.fci2008.be to the home page. Click on the language you want the information to be in and it will bring up the FCI Championship site in English.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DEADLINE DATE FOR RECEIPT OF ENTRY INFORMATION THAT IS SHOWN ON THE DECLARATION REQUIREMENTS HAS BEEN EXTENDED FROM JUNE 10 TO JUNE 30, 2008. Please also note that the “membership in an AWDF breed club” is not longer valid and that the requirement is current valid membership in an AWDF member organization.
